Ellen Wood Inducted into the Austin Tech Hall of Fame

May 19, 2025

On May 8, leaders from across the Austin tech community gathered to honor the visionaries who have built and continue to shape the region’s innovation economy. The Austin Technology Council’s Hall of Fame reception recognized individuals whose work has left a lasting impact on the city’s growth.

Among this year’s Legacy Inductees was Ellen Wood, our CEO and Co-Founder. The recognition celebrates not just her role in pioneering the virtual CFO model, but also the work of the entire vcfo team over nearly three decades—supporting more than 6,000 businesses through finance, HR, and recruiting services. We’re proud to be part of Austin’s story and grateful to continue serving the businesses that make this city thrive.

Congratulations to all 2025 honorees, including fellow Legacy Inductees Angelos Angelou, Joshua Baer, Robert Fabbio, Joe Liemandt, Pike Powers, Carol Thompson, and John Thornton; 2025 Hall of Fame Inductee Mark McClain; and First-Time Founder Award recipient Matt Angle. We’re honored to be in your company.
