About Meg Morreale
EXPERIENCE
Outside of vcfo, Meg is CFO of Austin Lighthouse, a social enterprise that trains and employs blind and visually impaired Central Texans. She runs finance, IT, supply chain, and compliance there, and she’s grown revenue more than 30 percent through government contracts, donor development, and investments. That growth put a $50 million warehouse within reach, with construction slated for 2027. She’s also exploring a preschool and affordable housing for the campus with Child Inc and BiG Austin. In 2025, the Austin Business Journal gave her its Best CFO award for nonprofits.
Before that, Meg spent nearly nine years in health plan finance. She was Vice President of Finance and Accounting at Baylor Scott & White Health, the largest nonprofit health system in Texas, where she oversaw accounting and finance for its $2.5 billion health plan. Reporting got better, costs came down, and profit rose more than eight percent. Earlier, as Director of FP&A, she led the acquisition and integration of FirstCare Health Plans, which beat its synergy targets. She knows Medicare, Medicaid, and CHIP products well, HHSC and CMS audits included.
Her earlier finance roles include Gap Inc. in Shanghai, Pernod Ricard, and medical device maker Laserscope. She’s a CPA licensed in Texas.
