Bill Osterhout joins vcfo as a Consulting CFO, with more than 30 years of experience as a CEO and CFO. As a guide in building companies from concept to exit, Bill feels his core mission is helping leaders quickly pull away from the competition.
Whether the challenge is seeking equity capital, improving investor relations, or finding the right talent, Bill applies hard-won lessons from a diverse background. Indeed, he's become an expert in industries ranging from energy, specialty chemicals and manufacturing, to hospitality.
As a serial entrepreneur and accomplished sailor, Bill is as comfortable taking the helm as he is plotting a course or serving as crew. The aim is to win through careful planning, data analytics, and aligning corporate culture with shareholder interests. At heart a people-person, Bill enjoys mentoring teams and rallying a wide variety of stakeholders around a plan of action.
Prior to joining vcfo, Bill was CFO for a Houston-based chemical manufacturer. He collaborated with the executive team to generate better financial and performance data to enhance their business decisions. Bill also secured credit and transformed the company's accounting department by hiring new talent.
Bill also served as interim CFO for a nationwide restaurant food processing company suffering from the COVID-related economic downturn. He succeeded in combining debt and capital leases in an $18M debt facility with a new lender, and helped restructure the company's operations.
Previously, Bill co-founded Saltgrass Steakhouse Restaurants, growing the chain to 28 stores at an annualized unit volume of $4.2 million. Bill implemented systems that placed the company into the top ten percent of the hospitality industry in terms of financial returns, guest satisfaction, and employee loyalty.
